Should you wish to extend or cancel you notice, please contact a manager at authorize@moveout.co.za. You will be able to inform them that you are not moving out or that you wish to extend your notice.

You may vacate your unit any time during our operating hours. Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm and Saturdays from 8am-2pm.

On approval of your move-out request, you will be sent a certificate. Please take this move-out certificate and show it to the facility manager on the day you vacate your storage unit.

Please fill in your banking details on your move-out request. Once your request and move-out has been verified, you will be refunded within 30 days.

If a notice appears informing you that you are liable for the next month’s rent, it means that you are making a request after the first day of the month. You may have missed the cut-off for that month and can only give notice for the end of the next month. If you have any queries or corrections, please contact a manager on authorize@moveout.co.za.

Without your indication to move out on the 1st of the month, you will be required to pay rent on this month. You are welcome to still move out during this time period, provided all your rentals are up to date.

Yes. When you submit your request online at www.moveout.co.za, please state that you wish to use your deposit as your last month’s rental payment.

Notice must be submitted 30 days in advance. We require a full calendar month’s notice. This means that if you wish to move out in the month of June, notice cannot be submitted later than the 1st of June. Please be advised that you are still liable for your notice month’s full rental.

We require written notice. Please submit your notice using our online move-out system. Visit www.moveout.co.za to submit your request.

No flammable goods will be allowed. No perishable goods (foodstuffs) are permitted. We obviously will not allow the storage of any illegal substances.

All our facilities are open Monday – Friday 8am-5pm and Saturdays 8am-2pm. Only certain facilities are open on Sundays from 8am-2pm. Please see locations for details. We are not open on Public Holidays.

Insurance is not provided as part of the storage rates. Each customer is to arrange their own contents insurance if considered necessary. Even though we do not anticipate any fires, theft or floods, Storage Genie cannot be held responsible should any of these things occur.

You will need to provide your own padlock. This is to ensure that only you will have access to your unit. Your lock, your key.

Your stored goods are extremely safe. Each unit is rented to one company/individual at a time so that you are the only person with the lock and key. You have total control over who enters your unit. Each facility has electric fencing and alarms, as well as a manager on site who conducts regular patrols. There is access control and no unauthorised persons are permitted on site. We are proud to say that there have been no incidences at Storage Genie facilities.

If you require a refund, it will be paid to you 30 days after you vacate.

An invoice will be emailed to you every month. We will send you sms reminders before we debit your account and you will receive monthly statements.

Lease agreements run ordinarily from the 1st day of the month to the last day of the month. However, for a period that is not a full month, the lease will be charged on a pro rata basis.

Your first payment will be a direct deposit into our bank account. We will ask you to use a reference of “NEW and your name” for this initial payment.

We then offer two different payment options.

  1. Debit order. Your monthly rentals will be deducted from your account on the first day of each month. These orders are swiftly cancelled at the termination of your lease with us.
  2. Paying for your rental for three months upfront. This means that you will receive quarterly invoices from us. Payment can be directly deposited for each 3 month period, or you can pay by credit card.

You may decide which of these options will better suit your individual needs. However, we unfortunately do not give the option to make monthly direct deposits.

Yes. We require a lease per unit. Should you rent more than one unit from us, we will require one lease agreement per unit. Our lease contains our terms and conditions as well as your rental fee per month. All our leases are signed on a month to month basis. You do not have to worry about being tied into a long term lease. You can choose your leasing period. Your storage, your way!
